Renovated your home? Bought new furniture? Or maybe your home just doesn’t feel as fresh as it should? You might be dealing with something you can’t see — formaldehyde. At Sembo, our goal is simple: to help you breathe safer, cleaner air.
In this blog post, we’ll walk you through our actual treatment process — step by step — so you can understand how we work and why it’s effective.
🧪 Step 1: Initial Formaldehyde Measurement (Before Treatment)
We start every job with a precise air quality check.
Our trained team uses a calibrated formaldehyde gas detector to measure the current level in your space. The readings are taken at average breathing height (1.2–1.5 meters) from multiple spots around the room — not just one location.
✅ This gives us a realistic picture of what you and your family are breathing in every day.
You’ll get to see the actual reading on our device, so everything is transparent from the start.
💨 Step 2: First Spray Treatment
Once we have your baseline reading, we start the treatment.
We use a formaldehyde-neutralizing spray that’s designed to safely break down formaldehyde molecules in the air and on surfaces. This spray is:
- Non-toxic
- Safe for kids and pets
- Quick drying and odorless
We apply the solution evenly across:
- Furniture (like sofas, shelves, wardrobes)
- Curtains, carpets, rugs
- Ceilings and walls
Then we leave the room untouched for 1 hour to let the solution work its magic.
🕒 During this time, the active ingredients start breaking down harmful compounds, neutralizing them on a molecular level.
📉 Step 3: Second Measurement (After 1 Hour)
After the 1-hour wait, we return to recheck the air.
We take another round of readings from the same spots as before. This tells us how much the formaldehyde level has dropped — and it usually drops significantly after the first spray.
You’ll again see the updated results live on our monitor, so you can track the change instantly.
💧 Step 4: Second Spray Treatment
To maximize the effectiveness, we then perform a second spray.
Why do we spray again?
Because formaldehyde off-gassing can be a slow process, especially from porous materials like:
- Fabric sofas
- Wooden cabinets
- Carpets and upholstery
The second treatment ensures any remaining residues or newly released formaldehyde are also neutralized.
📊 Step 5: Final Measurement (After Second Spray)
Immediately after the second spray, we take the final formaldehyde reading.
At this point, most of our customers see results dropping to within the safe background level (typically below 0.03 ppm). The room is now significantly safer, fresher, and more comfortable.

🔍 Why This Method Matters
Formaldehyde exposure—even at low levels—can lead to:
- Eye, nose, and throat irritation
- Coughing or breathing discomfort
- Allergic-like symptoms in kids
- Long-term health risks if ignored
That’s why we don’t guess—we measure. And we don’t just spray and go—we verify every step.
You’ll receive:
✅ A full report of your formaldehyde levels (Before & After)
✅ Peace of mind that your air is truly safe
✅ A team that cares about your health and comfort
